On the afternoon of September 5th, the ISA Liwan School was filled with the sound of melodious music and the presence of distinguished guests for the successful launch event of the strategic cooperation between ISA International Education Group (ISAIEG) and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO). The two parties officially announced the beginning of their strategic collaboration, unveiling plans to establish the "ISA Students Symphony Orchestra." This ensemble aims to reach a professional performance standard within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The member recruitment campaign was also initiated during the event. This partnership not only marks a significant milestone in resource collaboration but also represents an innovative exploration in cultivating musical talent.
This summer, ISA Summer Camp radiated energy and creativity. Students explored science, arts, sports, and innovation: from dinosaurs and superheroes to robotics and design, from music and drama to team challenges and sports. Alongside acquiring knowledge, they developed confidence, creativity, collaboration, and independent thinking. Every hands-on experience and showcase made growth tangible, and learning an exciting adventure.
On 15 August 2025, ISA International Education Group held its New Staff Orientation at ISA Liwan Campus. The programme aimed to warmly welcome all new staff, provide an in-depth analysis of the Group’s multi-dimensional support systems, strengthen inter-campus collaboration networks, and lay the groundwork for collectively advancing our "Inquire, Succeed, Act" educational mission.
In the early summer of 2025, ISA International Education Group welcomed back a very special "old friend" — Ms Elaine Whelen, the founding Head of ISA Tianhe. After years away, she returned to ISA on the occasion of ISA Tianhe’s 10th anniversary, visiting the Science City, Liwan, and Wuhan campuses.

The British Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (BAAO) is one of the most challenging astronomy competitions in the world. It assesses students' understanding of astrophysics and astronomy, as well as their ability to solve complex physics problems. The ISAIEG Student Enrichment Centre has launched the BAAO Academic Support Programme to help students prepare for this competition and to foster academic growth through exploring the unknown,. This initiative involves ISA alumni serving as mentors, providing systematic guidance to participating students.
With the arrival of the Year of the Snake, we not only feel the profound essence of Chinese traditional culture but also recognise the importance of integrating education with cultural inheritance. Recently, ISA campuses have organised festive activities filled with the spirit of the New Year. These celebrations are not merely joyful events but also serve as vivid lessons in traditional Chinese culture.

As time flows and the year transitions into early winter, the 2024 ISA Festival launched with the theme ‘Cyber Melodies’. The ISA Festival is an event, which offers the ISA community an annual celebration that combines both technological innovation and warmth. This event marks the first-ever collaboration between the ISA Festival and the ISA Innovation Festival, gathering over 10,000 guests from home and abroad. The event also attracted scholars and representatives from Tsinghua University, MIT-certified Fab Lab Shanghai, South China University of Technology, and high-tech enterprises, alongside ISA students, parents, staff, and partners.
ISA celebrated another very important and successful event on Friday and Saturday 1-2 November. It was the Sixth ISA Professional Learning Conference (PLC) and was again held at the ISA Science City International School campus. The second phase of the ISA Professional Learning Conference was held on 8-9 November at our ISA Wuhan campus. The ISA Board, ISA leaders and the entire ISA community are committed to the professional learning of staff as we know that this investment improves student learning and wellbeing, improves school operations, and creates a more successful ISA brand of education.

The new academic year is finally here. Accordingly, ISA International Education Group and all the campuses have recently undertaken orientation weeks to help welcome our team members. These orientation weeks focused mainly on teaching strategies and community development plans. For new employees, this training is a crucial starting point for integrating into the ISA community, allowing them to learn about ISA’s educational philosophy and core values. As summer arrives, ISA campuses come alive with a vibrant array of summer camps. These enriching programmes offer students the opportunity to delve into new subjects, hone their skills, and explore their passions. From immersive language courses to STEM workshops, our summer activities are designed to help students make the most of their summer break while fostering a love for lifelong learning.
On April 27, with strong support from the Education Bureau, Science and Technology Bureau, and the Association for Science and Technology of Huangpu District, Guangzhou, the ISA Science City International Innovation Centre was inaugurated. The event brought together top Chinese and international representatives from the education industry and innovative businesses. The event also attracted distinguished scholars, industry experts, business leaders, teachers and students from various schools across the Huangpu District. Together the guests explored how STEAM education cultivates innovative and talented students who will lead the future.
To further deepen our collaboration and inject new vitality into the field of international education, ISA International Education Group organised a recruitment event at Tsinghua University from March 21st to March 23rd. The event aimed to attract outstanding graduates from Tsinghua University to join the education industry, infusing innovative thinking into ISA's educational practices, and raising the overall talent and academic standards of the international education sector.
In celebration of the Year of the Dragon, New Year festivities were hosted across ISA campuses, honoring this significant Chinese tradition. Committed to fostering an appreciation of traditional Chinese culture, ISA prioritizes cultivating students' understanding and knowledge of Chinese culture.
Thank you for joining us on Saturday December 9th, 2023, in ISA Science City for the annual ISA Festival. As we enjoy this mild winter, we reflect on how quickly time seems to have passed, and how rapidly the seasons have changed. This year the theme of the ISA festival was ‘New Horizons’. We used this opportunity to showcase the infinite possibilities of technology and the infinite opportunities that lie ahead in the future. Students and their families, teachers, guests from consulates, business chambers, enterprises and other industries gathered to enjoy a spectacular carnival atmosphere featuring demonstrations of technology, stage performances, charitable activities, and ‘flash mob’ dances.
Over 900 ISA staff members attended the fifth ISA Professional Learning Conference (PLC) at ISA Science City and ISA Wuhan on Friday and Saturday 10-11 November. It was very clear that the ISA PLC has improved through the years and now enjoys the standard of a conference that you would encounter in a large, long-standing, professional organisation.
As the summer heat fades away, our new school year has arrived. After a fantastic summer vacation, ISA has opened a brand new chapter. The first day of school brings with it new expectations and hopes for both our older students who return to school and those new students who have just joined ISA. At the Orientation Day, students and parents were given the opportunity to learn more about the teachers, daily school life and curricula, in order to help prepare students for their future studies. On the first day of school, ISA welcomed every student and looks forward to growing with them and creating wonderful memories together.
On 7 April, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Guangzhou and held a "Meeting with Chinese Youth" event at Sun Yat-sen University. Keira Long, a student at Guangzhou Foreign Language School ISA Wenhua IB Diploma Programme, was invited to participate in this event as one of the only secondary school student team members in the audience!
Time flashed and seasons passed. In this thriving spring, thank you for being here with us writing the new chapter. The ISA Festival, with the theme of ‘Rhythm of Seasons’, followed seasons as a clue, together, we unveiled the beauty and charm.
On March 5, six international teachers from ISA Schools and programmes designed interesting trial classes in specific areas for Grade 8 students in Hengrun Experimental School on the theme of ‘What skills we have cannot be replaced by AI in the ChatGPT era’.
Time flies and it is finally coming to a new year. It is the contributions and efforts of all ISA teachers, staff and families that gets us where we are today. In this new year, ISA will embark on a rejuvenated journey to continue building a highly-performing educational system by facing and meeting our challenges, engaging in self and group reflection, and working together to improve ourselves and our entire organisation.
On August 25th, the ISA A Level welcome event for the new academic year was successfully held. This gathering brought together all parents and students, allowing them to get to know one another and providing an opportunity for parents and students to gain a clearer understanding of ISA's community culture.
With the new academic year ahead, our faculty team are in position ready for the new semester. We recently organized the third ISA Professional Learning Conference on August 18 and 19 in order to be well prepared for welcoming ISA students back to school, to improve the teaching and services we provide, to support our teachers and administrative staff through an efficient working system, as well as to maintain ISA community with team-spirits as its core.
On July 11th, Mr. Zheng Yongnian, Director of the Institute of Qianhai International Cooperation Legal Studies and Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and other leaders visited ISA Science City International School (Hereinafter referred as ISASC). Directors of ISA International Education Group and Chairman of ISA International Education Group (Hereinafter referred to as ISAIEG), Mr. Paul Bawden, Head of ISA Science City School, Mr. Tom Kline, ISA Academy Head of School, and Ms. Beth Jones, Director of Marketing and Communication, accompanied the visit.
On June 2nd, Minghe Tan, Mayor of Liwan District of Guangzhou, together with the heads of relevant departments such as Development and Reform Commission, Bureau of Education, Residence and Construction Department, Urban and Rural Planning Bureau, Fire Department and Hailong Street Office, visited Guangzhou ISA Liwan International Campus Project (hereinafter referred to as ISA Liwan) to inspect the construction progress and overall situation.
On 23 May, a delegation from the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, together with representatives from the Guangzhou Education Bureau and the Huangpu Education Bureau, visited ISA Science City School for an exchange and campus tour.
Last year in April, a new chapter began when six international teachers from ISAIEG successfully performed English trial classes in Hengrun Experimental School. On Feb 27th 2022, to enhance the good relations and cooperation between the two educational organisations, seven international teachers from ISAIEG designed six interesting trial classes in specific areas of knowledge, for the further empowerment of the students in Hengrun Experimental School.
