In the heat of August, new students entering grades 9 and 10 arrived at The ISA Liwan Transition Camp 2024 to fully prepare themselves for the upcoming international curriculum. Recently, they concluded this fulfilling and busy camp with a grand closing ceremony, marking the end of their two weeks filled with laughter. Having experienced two weeks of diverse subjects, engaging activities, and innovative learning formats, the incoming 2024 cohort is brimming with confidence about their future academic journey.
During this 12-day, USA study tour, students gained insight into the cutting-edge artificial intelligence tool, ChatGPT. They learned about entrepreneurship and innovative thinking in the STEAM fields within Stanford University's classrooms and experienced world-class, innovative technology by visiting Silicon Valley. While appreciating AI technology, we also explored in depth the history and development of Western science and technology and local regional culture.
Over the course of 11 days during the recent Summer Holiday, students embarked on an artistic exploration of London. Guided by their instructors, they explored the streets and alleys, learning about British history and architecture. Students experienced authentic British teaching at Central Saint Martins Arts College, admiring the British version of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, and engaging in face-to-face conversations with admissions officers and professors from prestigious universities.
As summer arrives, ISA campuses come alive with a vibrant array of summer camps. These enriching programmes offer students the opportunity to delve into new subjects, hone their skills, and explore their passions. From immersive language courses to STEM workshops, our summer activities are designed to help students make the most of their summer break while fostering a love for lifelong learning.
On the 20th of July, the ISA Wuhan 2024 Global Academician Workshop was successfully completed! 15 G10/G11 students and Professor John Biggins, Tenured Professor of Soft Matter Engineering at the University of Cambridge and Fellow of Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, spent a week brainstorming on the topic of "Engineering Frontier & Smart Manufacturing".
On 7 April, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Guangzhou and held a "Meeting with Chinese Youth" event at Sun Yat-sen University. Keira Long, a student at Guangzhou Foreign Language School ISA Wenhua IB Diploma Programme, was invited to participate in this event as one of the only secondary school student team members in the audience!
